Re: Amazon Echo / Alexa As this thread has been dormant for a bit. After a few months of ownership, I thought my Repeat would become less and less useful just I've found the opposite. I apply it more and more for new tasks. I'm at present able to get information technology to say what I want in response to a home automation outcome or a fourth dimension/date trigger and with the 'routines', I can use plain English language to tell it what to practice. Here'due south some of things information technology does now: "What's on today?" It tells us if at that place are whatever special events, which bins need taking out for recycling and other things. "What'southward on tomorrow?" As above but for the next day. "Supper's ready" Sets the lamps, mute and pauses Kodi and put's a "Supper's ready" banner across the screen. "Cheque the doors and windows" Checks to see if whatsoever doors and windows are open and tells me which ones. I've also got a routine for the kids if both my wife and I are not around in the morn before school (luckily it'southward not so oftentimes). Information technology reminds them, at different times, to take breakfast, clean their teeth, put their shoes on and what time they need to leave the firm. It's useful equally they sometimes go engrossed in something and forget. What is yours doing?

Re: Amazon Echo / Alexa Thanks for the post Tom! I have one in every room of the firm now (except kids rooms as they keep putting candy on the shopping listing). Been using it for timers, home automation (heavily), music (mainly the Sonos Ones) etc. Wish it had the smarts of Google Home though. Also still waiting for information technology to be officially supported in Switzerland. Looks equally though that both Alexa and Google Abode will be officially supported here by the end of the year.
